Outdoor Product: Feat. Twinmotion

Season 8, Week 14:

For this week, we’re excited to showcase a software that we’ve been experimenting with and have come to really enjoy: Twinmotion. If you aren’t familiar with it, it’s a real-time rendering software built on Unreal Engine, which means it’s super fast and can handle large, complex scenes with ease - perfect for our outdoor product prompt.

Our favorite part is that the free-for-personal-use version is fully featured, so it’s great for our community members who are looking for an affordable renderer.  If you’re looking to try it out, you can check the links below for some of our favorite tutorials from Twinmotion, or follow this link for their full demo course.

Download instructions:

1. Visit the Twinmotion licenses page and download the free Community Edition. https://epic.gm/render-weekly-outdoor-prompt
2. Follow the instructions to download the Epic Games launcher and create an Epic Games account if you don’t have one already.
3. Once the launcher is opened, navigate to the Twinmotion tab and click the Install button to download the most recent version

Note that if you’re using traditional ID/Engineering modeling software (Solidworks, Fusion 360, Rhino, etc) you’ll need to export your design as an .obj or .fbx to import to Twinmotion.
